Structured Literacy Systems Group

This website is in the illustrative phase with the hope of growing a group committed to creating Structured Literacy Systems by:

• Helping literacy leaders understand the Science of Reading/Structured Literacy and what it means to build a system to deliver on that Science

• Helping literacy leaders understand common problems they will encounter in building a Structured Literacy System.

• Offer a ready-made solution literacy leaders can act on immediately with no barriers and no costs.

• Offer examples and additional solutions from literacy leaders across the country.

• Offer access to a community to discuss and iterate on solutions, identify new problems and solutions.

The persistence of NAEP stagnation or declines are frustrating for the community. But very few systems have actually been built to full implementation around the Science of Reading to deliver on those results. This is changing and with a collaborative focus and community, we owe the students of our nation to see what we can accomplish with hundreds of full implementation systems in place.
